Want to get a dedicated laptop/pc to run obs with two Logitech C920 cameras to livestream my dj mixes.
Would i5 and 8gb of ram be sufficient to stream at 720p ?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, 720p30, maybe 720p60.
Depending on the i5. An 8th gen is more like gonna be better for it than any previous gen i5's,due to more cores.
But short answer, yes, it should be sufficient.

Thanks for the reply, the pc I was looking at was a Lenovo tiny pc which uses an i5 4570T so not as good as the 8th Gen i5’s. If going that old on the processor would going for an i7 be better option (4765T) which appears to benchmark in the region of the newer i5 8250U

Also as I won’t be streaming games does that lessen the work the pc has to do or is it just as intensive streaming the video ?

I have a Lenovo tiny pc already to run my home security cameras, I have four 1080p recording/streaming so turned these off temporarily and tried a dual camera set up on that machine and streaming fine in 720p.

This machine has the i5 4750t cpu and only 4gb of ram and whilst streaming was using 60% or cpu power and 45% of ram, so same pc but with 8gb of ram should be fine I think.
