This issue has only been occurring since the recent Windows 10.1 update.
Minecraft itself runs alright, although I am not (since 10.1) about to stay on a server for more than about half an hour without having to reboot because of timing out.
Every time I have the game running, and press record, I get a message saying that Java has encountered a fatal error. The game cannot open until recording stops. This only happens while using game capture, but window capture is really buggy and I don't want to use monitor capture. This error isn't occurring with any of my other games, but Minecraft is my only Java game.
None of these errors occurred before the recent Windows 10.1 update (about three days ago). All of my drivers are up to date (including Java), OBS is also up to date.
OBS never crashed itself at all, and only recorded black because, of course, the game it was looking for was no longer there.
