Question / Help Microsoft Basic Render Driver Detected

Hello. Like a few others I have high CPU usage (85%+ pushing my CPU to 100% usage when idle) and found that OBS Studio 21.1.2 is not detecting my graphics card properly. I have an nVidia 970 GTX installed. Both Windows Device Manager and dxdiag confirm it to be the graphics card installed on my system. I ran a complete uninstall (DDU) and reinstall (Official drivers, 397.64) based on the suggestions of a few threads I have found with similar issues. After the following restart the logs still show "Loading up D3D11 on adapter Microsoft Basic Render Driver (0)" when I relaunch OBS Studio.

I am convinced that this is indeed my issue and things will get better once I figure out how to get OBS Studio to detect my correct video card. Problem is that I ran out of threads with possible solutions to help me fix this issue.

My computer also has on board/integrated graphics but they are disabled in the BIOS.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Connect your display to your actual video card
make sure your video card's drivers are installed
and don't use remote desktop
