Question / Help Microphone recording in mono?

For some reason in the OBS Studio software, it only wants to record the sound of my microphone in the left channel only. I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 as my recording interface. I don't see any controls in OBS to control the panning of the audio from the microphone input.

The Scarlett is sending your mic as the left channel of a two-channel stream.

Scarlett inputs are an audio source with stereo input. Switch it to single channel in system or go to OBS and set capturing only one of the channels.

I still think that it is bad wording (Downmix to Mono) and something like Mix to Planar is way better.
