Microphone not detected

I've searched google and the forum for help, everyone elses issue I am seeing states that OBS IS detecting their microphone, but not picking up audio.

My issue is that it does not even detect my microphone.

I've tried shutting down OBS and relaunching, no luck.
I've restarted my computer, no luck.

**Update**

Moved Microphone jack to ports on MB instead of front panel, OBS now detects microphone, db show shows level changes, but still not actually capturing audio.

Why not select your mic under Settings > Audio instead of adding it to each scene as a source? If you're seeing mixer levels move it should be working, try playing back the output file in a program like VLC or MPC-HC.

Opened in Adobe Premier, audio from my microphone is there...
It appears as though the Windows Media player ,(Windows 10) does not like MP4 out of the box..

Thank you for the reply, I seem to be good to go. I was good to go the whole time and didn't know it.
