Microphone keeps fading in and out at intermittent intervals

HI all,
Can anyone help me. I have OBS latest version and suddenly when I screen record software, my microphone audio fades in and out. It has never done this before. OBS has been amazing as a screen recorder, yet since I upgraded to the latest version, all my mics have the same problem. I have two mics attached, a USB one and a headset one. Both worked fine.

I've tried other software, such as Loom, to do basic screen recordings and the mics are fine. They are also fine with ClipChamp. But my preferred OBS, is now not useable as it only seems to happen with OBS. I'll start speaking and within 20 seconds, audio fades out, then comes back seconds later.
Any ideas peeps!!

Screenshot your settings, especially any filters that you may have, keeping in mind that *everything* can have a filter. If you forgot that you had one somewhere, that could be the problem.

Windows also has its own audio processing, that is designed to make conference calls better in terrible environments. That's on by default, and the setting to turn it off is pretty well buried so that nosy non-techies don't accidentally turn it off and then blame Microsoft for breaking their computer. Likewise for fancy drivers. Find all of that and turn it off, so you're left with "a straight dumb wire" between the raw mic and OBS.
