It has been 2 weeks now of troubleshooting. Rode Mini usb or Yeti Nano (I have both) it is the same issue, while using OBS and OBS only the mics drops out randomly after some time. If you replug physically the mics they are back.
I tried all of the following:
So I came to the conclusion that windows has 0 issue and the mics (two brands! two different cables) have no issue either. It is a software issue. On a brand new windows 11 installed, I installed Chrome -> OBS -> Plugged my mic, talk for some mn and then mic dropped...from the get go.
Now what logs do I have on OBS to share when this happens? No logs, cause the logs I monitored them live when the issue happen and no logs are being logged when happening.
Total mystery, however not the first POST I see on this, therefore as I dearly need OBS (cause on other aspect it is brilliant), I would need anyone who can put me in contact with the OBS team or faced similar issue and found the FINAL / REAL solution linked to the software
Please do not respond with silly solutions such as clean your USB port, please read carefully the steps I took, as it really points out to OBS software & OBS like software like Stream lab which is a copy of OBS.
Only these software have the issue. I recorded with windows recorder /audacity for more than 20mn without drops or issue, while game was running.
This is silly & preventing me to actually record while filming, I am getting crazy over a clear software bug and I would need strong serious advice on how to point out the issue (maybe deeper logs hidden in OBS files where the issue could be logged).
Help is really appreciated, I am even ready to pay for it if you truly resolve the issue, this would help many other out there :)
I do not want to come to the solution of recording the audio via something like voice meeter to manage the autoducking & send it to audacity and then reconcile OBS video file with the audio, I think it would be a shame when OBS is suppose to be doing it all...and it is its sole purpose.
I tried all of the following:
- Update audio / usb drivers
- Deactivate power saving features linked to USB
- Deactivate options in device manager
- Make mic default mic
- Settings to prevent windows to take control of devices.
- Tried all the USB port of my PC tower
- My PC is 4weeks old.. (just if you are wondering if my port are all dusty)
- My mics are 6weeks old (same as above)
- Reinstall Completely windows (erasing all files)
- Recording / monitoring in many other software for sound only: audacity, voice meter, windows voice recorder: all of them manages the mics totally fine, the mics never drops out, when launching a game, when recording when messing up with sound settings, the mics are still there and never drops out.
- I did probably 20 other steps from forums & what not and I can't recall them all anymore :)
