Hi all.

Recently moved from the original OBS to OBS Studio at the recommendation of a friend. However, I've encountered a strange microphone crackle issue that wasn't present in the original software, and it's preventing me from using OBS Studio at all, to be honest.

I prefer to use push to talk for my videos, but using push to talk creates this crackling issue.

I've done a bit of research and other people have had problems with webcams, but I don't own or use a webcam so I'm stumped there.

Here are some video examples here detailing the problem:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1t_Ill62Kw - OBS Studio - Voice Activated Transmission. Everything works fine when using voice activated transmission.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBna87EnEAU - This is where the problem arises. No idea why this happens.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVX0r1nGm9E - Things get weird here... The crackle happens when I speak once push to mute is activated. However, if i'm silent when push to mute is active, it's quiet.

Just to show the difference, here are some voice clips from the original OBS.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL4H5pyYcZA - Original OBS - No crackle on voice activated transmission.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta2gfz4qS88 - Please excuse the microsoft sound in the background... Looks like I wasn't centered on the window that I should have been. Anyway, I've used push to talk for years with no problems.

Tried changing my push to talk key to something else, but that doesn't fix it. Even tried setting push to talk key as a button on my mouse, but that doesn't fix anything either.

I might be missing something extremely simple. All of my streaming/local recording settings are exactly the same as what I had on the original OBS, i've simply copied them over.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Identical problem here. I recently switched from OBS 0.658b to OBS Studio (64 bit) to keep up with tech and add a couple bells and whistles to my Twitch stream. In the previous version, my microphone audio was (and still is if I boot it up) flawless. In Studio, there is a light static effect to my microphone (no other audio). Adjustments to Gain, Noise Suppression, and Noise Gate have no effect on the static. Turning off push-to-talk removes the static. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
