Microphone capturing sound from the desktop...

Hello friends, first I would like to apologize for the English because I am using a translator.

Here is my log:

So I'm going to try to explain the problem and what I've already done to try to solve it ...

I'm using one HyperX Stinger, my MOBO is a AsRock X370 Taichi (tested with one logitech and one edifier but same problem)

Problem: My microphone captures the audio that is on the desktop, if I am playing for example, in the microphone's exclusive audio track the game sound is captured.

What I've done:

Separate the audio track (microphone and desktop)

Tested with other headphones

I uninstalled the drivers (realtek MOBO: Taichi X370) and reinstalled

I disabled audio devices and included as sources (scenes)

I used the DDU to uninstall the realtek driver and install it in safe mode

I used the windows driver

In the properties of the audio devices I am not monitoring the sound

I used Revo to uninstall and install OBS again

I used a USB adapter with the headset

I changed the frequencies to 48 and 44.1 (happens in both)

I tried to change the mono mic

I have already tested the motherboard rear ports

Well, none of this worked ... I don't know what else to do, if I lower the sound on the desktop, the sound captured by the microphone also lowers ... The only way to get around this was using a headset (front jack) to listen and another headset to talk plugged into the rear jack (back jack).

If anyone can help me or give me a light I would be immensely grateful, if you need screenshots or more details, or if you have any suggestions, please post here.

Thank you.

According to the log, you use simple output mode of OBS. To record to separate tracks, you need to switch to advanced output mode.

How does the desktop sound appear in the mic track? If you play back the desktop sound through speakers, it is possible the mic will pick up the speaker sound, so it will appear in the mic track. This may also happen if you play back the desktop sound through your headset and the volume is really high.

It appears on the microphone's exclusive track, even if I mute the microphone and physically turn the speakers off, I see the desktop audio peeking bar and the microphone bar as well. But there is no sound coming from the speakers or the headset and the microphone is muted.

If you want I can take a print or record a video showing the obs screen.

I mean, I can see the two bars peeking together (desktop audio and microphone). as if they were synchronized, but the microphone is a little lower. Even if I turn off the speakers, mute the microphone and remain completely silent without leaving any sound from the PC it happens. I don't know if it was clear, I'm sorry and thanks again for the help.

So, I tested it with audacity recording only my microphone (but with muted headphones) and put a song on youtube, the song didn't play in any way that the microphone could capture, but when I played the track recorded on audacity I listened the music perfectly ... I believe that audacity should record only the microphone, which did not happen ... I am starting to think that it is a problem on the motherboard.

So it is not an OBS issue but a Windows or hardware issue. While it seems interesting to solve, I don't see this is a topic for this forum. This seems more a a "fix my PC" or "fix my Windows configuration" issue.

Hello folks,
I am trying to achieve the same thing like to capture desktop sound (i.e, youtube, videos, background sounds) and mic sound (i.e. only my voice) through react. Only mic is working, but while capturing desktop sound it mixes with mic data, So I am unable to differentiate the voices.
Is it possible and if Yes, HOW?

I am having the same issue. You would think the mic is picking up the background noise, right?
Well in my experience with this particular issue, no it is not picking up the background noise as it should.
otherwise, there would be no activity when de-activating the mic. my question is, why does OBS pick up the mic signal and not Isolate the music when it is clearly marked as a mic onlyMic settings obs.pngController settings obs.pngController and mic.png
I am sending pioneer DJ the same thing...hopefully one will and the other won't have a solution.
