Microphone audio popping only when a specific game is loaded

So this is a very strange error that I've been encountering. I start having microphone audio popping almost constantly as soon as I load up a specific game (Sea of Stars). This game does not push my resources over the edge (CPU is below 20% usage, memory is below 80%), but for some reason I start getting constant Microphone sound channel audio popping with it.
I do not have this issue with more memory intensive games, nor do I have this issue when I run a more intensive setup
EG:
No issues - running 2 instances of OBS [one portable, one not] where the portal streams to the standard install via the Spout protocol, and the standard one streams to Twitch while the portable local records, and all this while things like Stream Avatars, VTubeStudio w/ local webcam recording, etc
Issues - Running OBS with nothing else other than it and Sea of Stars, do a local recording, no audio popping until the game starts up then the audio popping starts as soon as the game's initial "loading" screen is up.

Is there anything I can do to help determine why this is happening and try to fix it? Or is there additional information I should provide?

Currently using OBS 29.1.0 (hotfix 29.1.3 started crashing my machine for some reason so I rolled back to 29.1.0 which has proven more stable for me)

Sorry for the late reply. It is the microphone audio line. I have my audio lines split and the popping doesn't exist down the system/game channel, it is only on the microphone audio line and only when this game is run. Though I did stumble upon a steam thread of others having similar issues so it might be the game itself and not something I can fix in OBS.
