Microphone audio breaking up when recording laptop screen

Hi all, hope you can help with this: When I record my laptop screen AND built-in microphone, the audio breaks up when I watch my video. How can I fix this?

  • This ONLY happens when I'm also recording video.
  • When I only record audio, the sound is good.
  • It's not about the quality of the audio (that's poor, because of my laptop and room, but that's OK).
  • I have looked at both my Micrpohone settings in Windows 10 and my OBS settings.

I put a video and screenshots here: https://lefmarketingenevents-my.sha...NEr7JLUMYDiqYBce8ogC-yvqeczkIaNHOh7g?e=3bzKyM

Hope you can help. Thanks!

Here I'm gonna recommend this video, I know you're asking about streaming with Display but alot of your settings aren't set to do that and this pretty much covers the bases. Let me know if this helps you out bud https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JytmB27Ycw

Hi Sarah. I went through the video and made sure all the settings correspond with that. The issue however persists. Any other ideas?

I have uploaded a new video to my OneDrive.

Thank a bunch already.

Bump - hope that's OK!

I just tried a new video. It's just under 2 minutes and the audio is really "choppy". It's as if my hardware can't handle screen and audio recording at the same time.

By setting my video capture to a VBR I fixed the issue. I guess it's indeed my laptop not being able to handle a high constant bitrate.
