Micro Stutters When Streaming/Recording

Hi, I'm new to OBS and I've been streaming using an ATEM Mini connected to my 2018 15-inch Macbook Pro.

I noticed that my streams have been plagued with "micro-stutters" every now and then. I've been noticing the stutters even when just previewing and haven't started streaming at all. The stutters occur after about a few seconds, going away then coming back.

I've tried adjusting every setting I know in OBS to no success. I'm wondering if there's anyone who can help me resolve this.

OBS 19.0.3 is the only one that recorded smoothly for me, the latest actually causes the screen I'm capturing to stutter also. There's still some frame hitches in Catalina, but 19 still seems to be better than 25.

I'm not sure since you're using a card, would be worth a try using an older version. Turning off the preview might help.

Thank you for the insight. Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this on the Mac. I don't have a Windows laptop and I don't want to lug around my PC desktop so I would have to do streams without OBS now.

My last stream was a mess and OBS suddenly started utilizing my MacBook CPU to the fullest for some reason...and this was in the middle of the stream. This caused massive lag and audio sync issues which I was not able to fix during the stream and a reboot was not possible. This scared me and I'm now doubtful of this program.

I will try to downgrade to 19.0.3 and see what happens. Thanks again!
