Question / Help Mic tweaking in OBS

Does anyone have any tips on how to improve the "quality" of my mic in obs? It sounds great on discord, teamspeak and in audacity, but for some reason it sounds a bit muffled when streaming in obs and has a noticable background noise. I've tried noise suppresion which helps a bit and the noise gate which completely ruined the sound (made it crackly), i also tried to play around with this plugin but not much success https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/

Go to your audio sources and make sure you have the correct mic loaded, and remove all other audio sources you don't need.
Some webcams have built-in mics that will pick up *everything*, and if that's enabled I bet that's your problem.

Not the issue - never had a webcam or other mics plugged in.
