Question / Help Mic showing that it's recording, but video file doesn't contain more than background noise.

As title says, I'm having a problem recording my mic. The volume bar on microphone is going up and down when I speak, but all I get is background noise. I can't for the life of me figure out what's happening. Push to talk is disabled, and I'm using the only device other than "Default" as mic, which is my headset mic, "Realtek High Definition Audio". When i Skype people hear me without any issues.
