Hello there I’m very new to this world,
I got OBS and sony a7iii i set it up everything by watching YouTube videos,
I got Rode go wireless mic connects to the camera with a cord and it works if i record but when i tried to stream it doesn’t work. Sony camera built in mic doesn’t work when you use mic from outside but obs still uses my camera mic, is there any settings that im not aware of? Please help me Thank you in advance

Can you tell us more about how your camera signal is being brought in?
If this is via HDMI capture I would assume that the Sony doesn't output the microphone audio via HDMI, in which case you'd need to use an external audio input on your computer or a Audio Interface with Preamp.

I use capture card, camera using hdmi to capture card to Macbookpro, i just don’t understand why mic doesn’t work on the stream when it works perfectly fine while just recording .

I can't find any information to back this up but my assumption is that the camera probably doesn't have HDMI audio output, the only thing you can really do to test this is:

1. Connect the camera setup to the TV to verify if there is audio via the TV from the camera.
2. Connect the HDMI input to another HDMI source which does have audio to verify that the capture device and OBS are working correctly.

If both of these tests work I'd be surprised because it's either the camera or the capture device into OBS, and my money is on the camera just now.

Hoping to get help with very similar topic. I'm using a7iii connected via UBS-C to USB-A on windows PC. I've added "window capture" (which in turn captures sony's remote app) to add the image from the camera. However, when I try to add audio input device, sony's internal mic does not show up. What is the easiest method to get the audio from sony a7iii to OBS?
