Mic issue

Hey guys

This issue really has me baffled, I'm using a blue yeti blackout, all of a sudden my mic sounds really distorted for no reason at all. Its not too loud just distorted, no matter what I do with gain or volume.

My mic is not default, its specifically set as the yeti.

I've changed my USB cable and USB port.

Now the weirdest thing is, if I open Audacity and turn down the recording level, then open OBS its perfect and fixed.

I assume that audacity has direct control of the driver when obs doesn't? I'm just not sure whats changed to have to open Audacity everytime before I stream.

You should lower the input volume of the mic in windows settings:

Worth checking if OBS has rights to can access your mic

Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone
Allow apps to access your microphone
Check that OBS is ON.

Though distortion leads to an issue at driver level or having a mismatch of frequencies being used (44khz / 48khz)
Worth checking in your mic properties > advanced > Default Format
Is in line with what you're running in the audio tab in OBS Settings.
