Mic distortion with no apparent cause

So, when I went to stream last Saturday (9-27), I was informed by my chat that my microphone was getting distortion coming through OBS. Something that has been puzzling me ever since. I've tried to do every fix I could find tutorials for, but none have fixed the core issue. I have not changed any settings from previous streams, and other applications like Discord capture a clean signal. This is genuinely starting to get upsetting with how frustrating it is.

I could not tell you what kind of microphone it is beyond being a usb microphone (OBS has it labled as 'MIC-96KHZ) as it was purchased years ago now and there's no branding on the mic itself.
 
Update: After consulting with a friend on discord - that is now having the same distortion stuff - they think it might be the audio drivers and/or the microphone itself

I would try disabling your filters and testing again, along with lowering the gain in your windows audio settings for the mic.
 
I've tried that, and no difference other than picking up the fans I have going in my room, and being quieter. I should also point out that the filters there are present on the vod without the distortion too, hence why my friend is starting to wonder if it isn't the drivers or mic itself now that the problem is being noticed on Discord as well.
 
So, finally having found the place to do that, the input volume set for the microphone is 0 so I don't think that's a possibility.
