I have been going back and forth with this for a few days and if I was not bald, I would have ripped my hair out.
I have a focusrite scarlett solo that I want to get the audio input from my performing computer. I have a line signal and can hear it with my headphones on the audio interface. in streamlabs I set the mic / auxiliary to the scarlet and it shows its name in the mixer, but no vu meter and no input. I have tried a few different ways of bypassing or changing settings as listed below:
1 - tried using the digital mixer and sending input to that and then routing it to obs streamlabs. I could not get a signal to show inside of that as well.
2- I have tried disabling the mic / aux and setting up through desktop and setting it to scarlett speakers and then went into windows settings and set "listen to device". this worked but has echo and feedback...not gonna be right in any means but shows there is something.
3- I have disabled hardware acceleration incase it was invisible due to update error.
Note it does not matter what I plug into the scarlett or what button i hit, no VU meter will appear in streamlabs.
I have gone every direction I can think and I am worried that it isn't software or windows but my computer. I had a friend that spent weeks not getting a signal, got a new laptop and worked first try...
images attached are what I have spoke about.
