Mic/Aux Clip auto adjustment

I've been looking all over for if this exsist or maybe even a good starting point. I've never scripted for OBS, so maybe some one has a better idea then i do on acomplishing this.
Sounds easy enough but im not so sure it is.

The idea is have noise gate or somthing mesure DB of mic if the source equals over -1 then turn down the volume by 1 unit.
I'm sure this can be done with LUA

May I ask why a script instead of using the limiter filter?
