Question / Help Mic Audio only picked up when Desktop Audio is Playing

Hey guys. My Mic audio is only getting picked up when my desktop audio is playing (aka youtube, windows movies and tv, etc.) I have no idea how to fix this, all settings are set towards my mic recording. I have an Astro-A20 microphone. Any help would be appreciated.
