Question / Help Media Source playing audio, but not video...

Hey all, I'm new here, I've checked around but can't seem to find a thread about this issue... I've recently taken an old macbook pro of mine to use exclusively as a very basic streaming device... Mid 2009 15" Macbook Pro, 2.8Ghz Intel Core Duo, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB (old, but fairly decent). Running El Capitan.

Everything is set up the same way it had been setup on another laptop we use (which is no longer available,) but on this one when we play a media source there is audio, but no video... no video output at all. Even if the media source is just a jpeg image, just no video output... it's pretty frustrating.

OBS says it will work on OS 10.11 or newer, and I'm running 10.12... and I don't think its a graphics card issue... Am I missing something obvious here? Anyone else have this issue and was able to fix it?

Downloaded 'openshot' and the video played just fine. plays in quicktime and vlc just fine too... still not working in obs. Still images dont even show up in obs. Like a jpeg file will be in the preview window, but will not transition into the output... Thanks for the suggestion though!

Also, as I was searching around for a solution I saw that I should downgrade my vlc player to 2.2.8, so I have done that and still have no video playback from that source either. I do see that I am getting the audio still, though.

Post a log?

VLC doesn't matter unless you're using the VLC source specifically.

Also not sure El Cap runs the latest, so what version are you on?
