I wanted to create a few animations for my stream, so I made these in aftereffects.
these media sources are triggered by hotkeys.
I noticed a few weird things, which I'm not sure what cause them.
Details:
I exported the movie with rgb+alpha in both mov and avi format. Both uncompressed.
These work fine - only 2gb for a 8 seconds movie is a bit big.
I press hotkeys it appears, I press it again it dissappears and correctly unloads in both cases.
But then I noticed something odd: if I would hide the movie source right before the end or as it was done; the media source would not remove itself from the mixer. Also it would not play anymore until I reselected the file in the media source properties. Using just RBG movies, this issue does not occur at all and it works perfectly.
Now the size thing : I down scaled the movie by a factor 4. Now every time I tried to hide it again the source got "stuck" in both formats, and refused to play again until reselecting the file.
Again switching back to just RGB made it all work fine and dandy.
The conclusion I've drawn from this; if somehow the media source has buffered or reached the end of a video with alpha, the source gets stuck. Is this a known issue? A quick search did not find anything.
