Bug Report Media source not monitoring

I added a media source to scene with a mp3 file, in advanced audio set to monitor & output. When I start the scene you can hear it playing through laptop speakers. If I transition to another scene and back to scene with media file, I cant hear the music unless I change the advance audio to monitor off and back to monitor & output. Any reason why it wouldn't continue to monitor through speakers?

i'm not seeing anything obvious.
1) Try with checking in the source properties: 'Restart playback when source becomes active';
2) Try to update obs to latest version.
Seek help in obs discord if this doesn't work.

Also I didnt add Im using the portable 22.0.2 and windows 10. It also appears if I add a media file into my scene and have the properties set to monitor & output. I can hear the mp3 when I first transition but I lose sound if I transition to another scene with different media file. I can see it in the mixer window and the sound bar is responding but no sound.

I have the exact same problem in OBS 25.0.8 (64 but) in Windows 10. When I add an MP3 file as a media source, it can be heard through Monitor correctly the first time, but if you click to another scene and then back (even an empty one) then nothing comes through monitor even though the VU meter shows the track is playing.

If I briefly click to another scene and then back, the MP3 file is audible for about 6 secs and then cuts out again. I'm using "Restart playback when source becomes active.

+1 -- Having issue exactly as this describes. This is a standalone .mp3 in a Media Source. Plays great the first time, then hiding the source and unhiding it, I can no longer hear it.

Three years later, and this issue still persists in OBS (Open Bug Software) 27.2.4. Don't worry, media files aren't a widely use feature though, right?
