Question / Help Media Source - No Sound Playback

Hello,

I am fairly new to OBS but have done a bit of reading on these forums, but seem unable to find an answer/update.
I want to insert a video (.MP4 file) into a project. When I do so, the video plays back perfectly, but there is no audio, either when I am just viewing it, or when OBS is streaming/recording.

I've seen some posts which says audio isn't supported, but wasn't sure if this is something different?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

1> don't save directly to mp4
2> Use VLC to check your recordings.
3> media source has problems. Installing vlc will allow you to use the vlc source which has fewer problems.

Thanks for your message. I have VLC already installed on my MacBook and the file itself plays fine in VLC. When I try to add a VLC Video Source it's the same problem - I can see the picture but no sound.

And how are you checking that you have no sound?

Hi Harold, when I've streamed/recorded and watched it back there is no audio. When the video clip plays, the equaliser moves as if to say it recognises that there is audio, but it just can't be heard.
