Can anyone please tell me why, when I add a small mp4 movie as a scene, sometimes it plays and other times it looks like it has frozen. It very frustrating as it seems so hit and miss??
Thanks

'iMac" covers a huge range of machine ages and configurations, and I can't tell how much you're asking of the machine without a logfile.

Here are the log files for the time we live streamed. I'm sorry I can't be more specific as to which one it was but the freezing seems to happen everytime we run OBS?

You appear to be overloading your machine. A bad media file might indeed be the cause.

This would seem to indicate that Media Source 2 is a corrupt file, or a file in a format OBS doesn't seem to like much.

Also... that's a Late 2011 iMac, so... you may indeed be asking a bit too much of it. Perhaps lower your canvas resolution if you don't need the full 1080p.

Thanks heaps for all of that Narcogen. I did wonder if the age of my iMac could be an issue and you seem to have confirmed it. Can you tell me what media format OBS prefers or likes the best? I am having to convert media files into ones that OBS recognises.

Cheers
Neil

x264 encoded mp4s are fine. (I don't think just using the .m4v file extension is, by itself, a problem, although I always change that myself to .mp4).
