I've recorded few videos of left 4 dead 2 and csgo, and i've seen massive stutter. The frame changes every 5-20 seconds. Games on my pc run smoothly (lets say 60-100 fps). Using any other recording program just affects the performance too much (fraps) so i use this. I've never got any frame drops here but the video result is, urgh. Idk how to put logs so i'll put like this

Btw my processor turbo is 2.66 GHz, and i've overclocked my gpu, 64x windows 8.1 (if any of those matter).

Old OBS Version

You are using an old version of OBS Classic. Please update to the latest version to ensure you receive bug fixes and improvements. Use Help / Check For Updates or visit the OBS download page to get the latest release.

Multiple video cards detected

If you are having problems and are using a laptop, see this thread for advice.

If you are using SLI or Crossfire, you may need to disable it for compatibility with OBS.

Excessive bitrate

Your bitrate is very high. For live streaming, your viewers must also be able to download at the bitrate you specified. Setting too high of a bitrate will cause your viewers to experience lag and your stream may also drop frames if the streaming service you use does not support such high bitrates.

Skipped frames detected

The video encoder is unable to encode your frames in realtime, causing skipped frames (the video output will appear frozen). This is often caused by running at too high of a resolution / FPS combination for your CPU. Try lowering your resolution and/or FPS. If you have changed the x264 preset, put it back to default (veryfast).

See https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...ing-too-long-to-encode-read-this-first.23334/ for more details on how to fix this problem.

Hook conflict detected

Game capture detected a hook conflict but was unable to determine which application was responsible. Try closing any other applications that may be injecting into your game, such as FRAPS, D3DGear, MSI Afterburner, AMD Raptr / Gaming Evolved, Action!, TeamSpeak/Mumble Overlays or any other kind of FPS monitor or overlay program

CPU Advice
  • Set downscale to 480p or similar low resolution
  • Set FPS to 25
  • Consider using superfast preset if you experience high CPU usage (not recommended)
Game Advice
  • Try to aim for the highest bitrate possible for high motion games
  • Use game capture if possible for maximum performance.
  • Use window capture with Aero enabled if game capture is unavailable.
Network Advice
  • Your upload speed is sufficient for 720p / 1080p
  • Enable CFR for compatibility with streaming services
  • Enable CBR for improved stream stability
  • Recommended max bitrate: 3500
