Question / Help Massive Framerate Drop Help!?

Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help or give me some advice on this.

I've been using OBS for a while now to record video, i just recently purchased a new computer and webcam and it was a massive improvement than filming on my old laptop ....at least for a few weeks that is.

just very recently, for no reason i can understand, the framerate of the recordings dropped incredibly and I've tried everything i can think of to fix it , I'm no techy ( one of the main reasons I like OBS ) so I've really reached my limit in trying to understand what the heck went wrong.

Unfortunately, all i can tell you is that it "was" working just fine and recording at a pretty good level and now it's gone all pear shaped.

Anyone got any idea whats going on? any help would be greatly appreciated.

If that AMD APU is a massive improvement than your laptop... I feel bad for you :(

That said, make sure the Windows 10 Game Mode is disabled. Do you use any antivirus? Several have been known to conflict with OBS.

Heh thanks, its just a little ol bare bones system, yes i use AVG, though never had a problem before with it and it doesn't seem to matter if its active or not, what i can't understand is that it "was" working just fine for me, i don't stream on this PC, just use OBS for recording at moderate resolutions with a little chroma thrown in...

so basically what your saying is upgrade right?

With AVG, make sure the "Game Mode" options are all disabled. They are known to cause very significant issues with OBS.
