Massive FPS/Performance drop since RTX 3080 Ti

Hey guys,

Since I've gone from my RTX 3080 to my RTX 3080 Ti, I've been having terrible performances on OBS. The main game I'm streaming is RDR Online, and without OBS running my game is around 100 fps. Once, I start OBS and streaming I'm at 60FPS. Previously on my RTX 3080, I would go from 90FPS to like 75FPS. I don't which amount of FPS drop is considered good on NVENC encoding.

So, the things that happened during this change of performance were that my windows 10 was updated to 21H1 and I replaced my video card. Before it was fine.

Now, here's what I've done.

  1. Removed Nvidia Audio Effects (Nvidia Broadcast Noise Removal Filter)
  2. Removed Nvidia Broadcast
  3. Removed Nvidia Experience
  4. Minimized my OBS on my 60hz while my main screen is 144hz
So I don't know what else to try, seems something has happened since Windows updates.

Heres two of my logs.

Many thanks

Change the refresh rate on your monitor from 144 Hz to 120 Hz and cap your games at 120 FPS.
OBS needs GPU time and resources because it has to composite and render a scene. If you want OBS to require less resources, you'll have to build simpler scenes and scene collections. Create a new scene collection with 1 scene with just 1 game capture scene for RDR Online. Restart OBS.

Thanks, but what would cause the drop in performance since my RTX 3080 purchase? The RTX 3080 Ti is stronger and causing issues by rendering too much? I had the same scenes before.

Is it possible that one Windows Update cause this issue? I see reports of FPS drops since April, it might be related too.
