I have been streaming for months now on both OBS and Slobs with no issues of any kind. I recently started streaming Apex and that went great for the past 3 days. Today when I try streaming I am getting huge fps drops in obs while everything in game looks great.

This happened on both OBS both Slobs, I have changed every setting I know of both in game and in OBS with little to no difference. Most recent Log is below.

Different games have different demands on CPU. You streaming to twitch at 1080p 60fps ? you would be better off using 720p instead with the 8700k unless you have a dedicated rig. I have the 8700k also and i need to switch alot of settings depending on game played. saying that i use 720p 60fps sometimes with fast preset on more demanding titles, but can get away with 900p 60fps fast on medium on others. You could also switch to NVENC/NVENC New and see how that looks. lowering in game settings will help also.

Just an update in case anyone finds this and is having issues streaming Apex. After lots more testing 1080p and 60fps was not really the issue but switching to 900p 60fps is ideal due to Apex being a high movement game; just ends up looking better for viewers.

The real problem was my main monitor is high refresh rate that after lowering the refresh rate all my issues have now been resolved. Essentially just cap your frames. I also have a Nvidia 1660 ti gpu which ends up being able to use the NVENC New Sanity suggested pretty well. I would say anyone with a card of similar or higher performance should be using NVENC unless your CPU is insane. Nvidia has a great article on the ideal OBS settings for NVENC New if you decide to try it out.

I've had a ton of issues finding the ideal stream settings for Apex so hopefully this helps someone out there.
