Hy!
We just upgrading our little "studio", and I need to figure out a stable, live streaming solution.
We going out places with multiple cameras, they connect to a video switcher, which sends out the signal in SDI - and I need to add logo/overlay/etc to this signal, and send it back to our server, which broadcast the video to our viewers.

So for keep it portable, I need a laptop with an input interface, which can handle 1080p50 stream, and the most important thing: STABLE!
I read a little, and I thinking in an used workstation grade laptop, like Dell Precision M4800 (i7-4700MQ, 16GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro K2100M 2GB + Intel HD 4600 Optimus) and BMD UltraStudio SDI. I need to keep the budget as low as I can.
This solution could work? The OBS supports the UltraStudio SDI? Can it use the Quadro cards?

Thanks for help, and keep it up the good work! I followed the development, and I can say, the OBS Studio offers very good solutions, even some commercial products can't...

I have a very similar setup, same laptop and config with the Ultrastudio SDI. I haven't used it with OBS but it's been pretty buggy with FMLE and Wirecast so far. It seems to work but it's never been without issues. In every setup, there is usually an encoding error of some sort that causes the stream to skip, jump or have inconsistent audio and video quality. Our typical source is 1080i60(59.94). Just to drive the point home, I found your post through a google search trying to rectify my current issue with this very setup using Wirecast.
