I have a USB audio interface with 4 analog inputs, which I can control as separate sources in the mixer and record to separate channels. There are in the market interfaces with as many as 16 mic preamps and combos with as many as 8 wireless handheld microphones, each identifiable by a different color.
It would be very useful if each source in the mixer could be identified by the same color as the microphone assigned to it. As of today, OSB Studio only allows you to set colors to the sources in the source window, and the task must be repeated for each scene, and there is no guarantee of uniformity. They are all pastel colors and there is no orange!
It would be even better if there was some standard, shared by the manufacturers of audio interfaces, microphones, cables, windscreens and anti-roll sleeves, so that any given source could be easily identifiable, from the stage to the software, by some matching, bright and distinctive color.
