Question: Can OBS Studio installed and running in the Mac Pro, record from the running VM (Windows 11) using the mic of the VM.?
Why would you want to do that?
Generally, if something is on the screen and coming out the speakers, you can pick that up in OBS. So if the guest has to go through the host to get to you, then OBS on the host can get it as it leaves the host. You might use that for a tutorial or something on the guest, without the guest knowing any different.
But if the host has to pass a physical input to the guest, why try to get it back from the guest? Why not capture that same input in the host?
If it's exclusive - as in, either the host or the guest can use it, but not both at the same time - then you might use it directly in the host and then send it to a virtual device that goes to the guest. The guest *might* see something different in that case, as another sound card to use instead of what you're doing now, but that should be it.
