Hi all,
I would not have made this post if I hadn't gone to the ends of the earth already to try to solve this problem. Hopefully someone can help.
Here is my setup: I'm running a Catalina MBP. I have an Ecler Evo 5 mixer (it is Traktor Scratch Certified with a built in sound card...essentially a NI Audio 8 DJ built in). The Ecler is firewire only, so I connect it to my MBP via a firewire to thunderbolt adaptor. I run Traktor 3 IN EXTERNAL MODE so I can use my 2 older CDJ 800 mk2s.
I have tried the full selection of options ranging from iShowU, to Soundflower, etc. The Evo 5 soundcard is usually what I select in Traktor audio external mode options wen I'm not trying to stream. I've tried selecting the other options created in AudioMidi Setup via those virtual sound card programs mentioned above but no luck. The main problem seems to be as soon as I switch Traktor out of External Mode, I lose all control of my CDJs of course. The only time I've ever been abe to get the VU meter in OBS to pick up sound from my mixer's soundcard is when I switch Traktor to internal mode.
I have yet to see a tutorial on how to running Traktor through OBS in external mode. Everything usually addresses running a control which uses Traktor's internal mode.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? I followed the iShowU tutorial on this site, step by step. Again, I think it has something to do with the external control mode.
