Question / Help Macbook Pro specs

Hi, we are looking to start live streaming events via video cameras plugged into thunderbolt ports and are looking to buy a suitable Macbook Pro. For a smooth and reliable stream do we need a fast processor (i7 etc) and fast speed or would an older machine (2012 etc) be OK? Many thanks, Brian

You want the fastest CPU you can justify unless you're intending to stream at 720p30 or lower, in which case you might get away with less. A 2012 machine might work but it depends on specs, and you didn't list any. GPU also matters.
