Hey there,
I am currently trying to improve my setup to record a workshop in June.
Inputs:
- HDMI signal of presenter laptop
- Sony HDR-MV1 (super wideangle) via HDMI-to-USB3 to capture the front where the speaker and the panel is located.
(maybe an additional USB webcam)
When I start arranging the inputs in OBS and (even worse) starting to crop the video to only get a part of the feed into the mix, my macbook is having a hard time.
I assume that the capturing itself is rather ok-ish (from a performance perspective). I suspect rendering the actual scene and cropping the camera-feed is what hurts performance big time.
I was wondering whether using a eGPU box with an RX470 / RX580 would lift me out of misery. Ok, not the cheapest option for sure. But FWIW..
Thanks for this awesome piece of software btw
