Question / Help MacBook Pro 13" 2016 Help

I've tried to stream from my PS4 using an Elgato HD60S with my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) using the Elgato Game Capture Software, but it says it cannot do it because my Mac does not meet the minimum system requirements of 4 dedicated GPUs, (MacBook only has 2).

Would the OBS be something I can use instead? Do I keep the Elgato HD60S to use with it or do I get something else?

First time trying this out! Thanks for the help!

You will not be able to use the HD60S with OBS on MacOS, as Elgato does not provide a standard video device driver for it.

If you can, I would return it and get something comparable from Magewell or BlackMagic.

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro and also use an Elgato HD60s but with an Xbox one X. I only have 2 drivers but it still works with my stream. I use The Elgato software though instead of OBS, because it doesnt work with OBS. I have no issues. The fans in my macbook pro seem to run on full blast the entire stream and also runs hot. But it still displays everything even though I dont meet the system requirements. Not sure why. Try using the Elgato software and see if you have the same issue.

Just to clarify:

One cannot use the HD60S with OBS on MacOS.

You can use Elgato's own software, but you can't use other software, including OBS, because Elgato does not provide a standard video device driver that works with MacOS.

A driver is not needed to use Elgato's own software, since their software addresses the device directly.

This does not apply to other devices Elgato sells, such as the CamLink.
