Question / Help Mac - Virtual Cam

I'm working to get OBS set up to use with Zoom (working with a Sony a6500 for an external camera) for several meetings and gatherings. From what I've gathered, there is no VirtualCam for Mac, only for Windows. Is that correct? Are there workarounds for this?

As of right now, I'm using the "remote" option from Sony on my Mac, then using Window Capture in OBS to grab that screen for streaming. I'm hung up on getting it into Zoom - Zoom doesn't recognize anything but my Mac's camera.

Currently no workarounds. Some people are working on an RFC for developing a virtualcam solution for OBS on MacOS, but there's no timeline on when there would be a release, if ever.

You might look at CamTwist. You would use that instead of OBS.

There is a workaround where you can use CamTwist (which does a terrible job of green screen) as your virtual cam. Video here:

Also, a guy has code that creates a virtualcam for Mac but it would require someone with more skill than I (but it's a sign that people are working on it and we will one day get it):
