Question / Help Mac to Macbook Display Question

I cannot find a post that is similar to what I am trying to do, so my apologies if I am double posting.

I am using a presentation software on an iMac, and want to stream the presentation. Presentation software allows for multiple outputs (including bottom 1/3) how can I send an output directly from iMac to Macbook Pro that is running OBS for the stream? Would a straight USB--> USB cable work?

No, you cannot share display information between two computers with just a USB cable. You need either a capture card, or a software substitute for a capture card.

One such substitute is NewTek's NDI software and the NDI plugin for OBS:

This works best on high speed wired networks.
