Mac Pro 5,1 NVIDIA GTX 980 Hardware Encoding

Hello all,

I am a bit new to OBS, so pardon me if appear a bit dense.

I have a Mac Pro 5,1 running macOS High Sierra (10.13.6) with a NVIDIA GTX 980. This GPU is the only "upgrade" I have performed on it. It is my intention to use hardware encoding so that I can take some stress off of the processor, as there will very likely be several other things that the computer will be doing other than streaming and recording video. However, when I go to select the encoder, I only have the x264 and Apple VT H264 Software Encoder options in the dropdown menu.

After reading advice on issues similar to mine, I decided it'd be a good idea to downloaded the free version of VideoProc to see if my GPU's hardware acceleration was available. Unfortunately it shows the red dot and says its unavailable for both H264 and HEVC. I am trying to avoid the video encoding being overloaded, which will cause the stream's bitrate to go all over the place, eventually resulting in a massive amount of dropped frames.

Could anyone to lend me some advice on how I can get hardware encoding on my setup?

Thanks for any help offered!
