Question / Help Mac OBS doesn't recognize Magewell USB/HDMI Device

First posting here, can't seem to find a solution anywhere...

Recently purchased a Magewell capture dongle from HDMI to Usb 3.0, recording only no streaming. I've been using it to capture from my mac output to my PC OBS. Works /alright/ on PC despite dropping frames consistently (but that's an issue for a different thread..)
However, when I attempt to capture from my PC to my Mac OBS, the capture dongle doesn't show up in the video devices dropdown. The only device recognized on my Mac is the built in webcam.

Any suggestions on how to make this work??

Does it show up in any other applications?

What applications could I test this with? All I know is that the USB dongle responds correctly with the LEDs indicating that it's connected and active

QuickTime. FaceTime. Skype. Anything that uses a webcam device. If nothing can see the Magewell, then there's a driver problem. If only OBS can't see it, then it's a problem with OBS.

try different usb ports. It may be a speed issue with the port. I have one that only works in certain ports
