Question / Help Mac mini getting hot - am I using both cores??

Hi,

I've only recently got into streaming and even more recently into OBS but loving it.

I'm basically mixing a FB live feed from various friends (music and video) with my own music and video and re-streaming this.

I add my own audio via a DAW called Reaper, which, in itself, in my setup, is pretty CPU intensive; ie. I've already had to make compromises to get it to run on my Mac - W7 BootCamp btw.

So, by the time OBS gets into the picture I'm guessing that I'm red-lining my CPU.

My questions are:

1. How can I know whether BOTH cores of my CPU are being used, and
2. How can I use them both usefully if not?

I have to say, I've never felt my Mac so hot; I even took it apart for a good spring clean at the weekend I was so concerned.

I know that several suggestions will be:

1. Get a new computer,
2. Don't use such high settings etc

BUT, I know that my DAW Reaper is only using 1 core as its maxing out CPU-wise, from its point of view, whilst the Mac is reporting less than 50% usage.

So, I'd like to know how OBS is likely to behave in this situation.

Any tips and general advice would be very gratefully received.

Kind regards,

Mike

I am using latest Mac Mini its configuration is hereunder, I believe Mac Mini is not good for streaming when
You use
Reaper as your server and take video from other source (Streayard)
I faced a long delay and interrupted signal with Reaper and not sinking with video
my Configuration of mac mini is
Mac Mini (Late 2014)
Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB
Processor 2.6 GHz D Dual Core Intel Core i5
16 GB MHz DDR3

if you use Mac Pro of 2012 model with 64 GB RAM you will not face any problem
