Hey guys, need help here.
I am using a macbook 2016 with MacOs High Sierra version 10.13.6. Since I installed OBS today, my camera won't turn on.

Tried turning on photo booth and this is what it shows. Tried uninstalling OBS, than restarting laptop, turned on photo booth again, but still shows same thing.
Can anybody help me on this please.
Very much appreciated for any suggestion.

Done.
Checked old post

FYI: macOS Virtual Cam on OBS 26.1

Make sure OBS is closed, and then do the following:

  1. Open a new Finder window

  2. Hit "CMD+SHIFT+G", then enter /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
Now camera in Photo Booth and Zoom working properly

Not sure what navigating to the folder would've done, but closing OBS would indeed have made the virtual camera go away.

So, some context so you understand what's going on. What you saw, as you figured out, was the OBS virtual camera. This allows the video of your OBS output to be piped to any program which can accept a webcam as input.

In any app which latches onto the virtual camera instead of your regular webcam, you just need to enter your input settings and choose your regular camera. In Photo Booth, look under "Camera" in the menu bar. In Zoom it's under the video controls in the bottom left of the screen or under settings.

I cannot stress the following enough: this is normal, expected behaviour of OBS and not a bug. OBS is not interfering with the other apps, just presenting them with another camera option which they have decided to default to.

This absolutely is a bug. In chrome on a mac, you cannot change the webcam away from OBS. If you uninstall OBS, it stays this way, you have to reboot in some special mode and manually delete the file. This is not normal expected behaviour, it's a bug.
