Question / Help Mac and Firewire 400

Will OBS work with Firewire 400?

I have a Sony DVMC-DA2 box
I am feeding RCA into the box and firewire 400 out of it and in to a IMAC running ElCaptain
OBX will not see the box.

iv made my audio interface work with obs only for one time the next time i used it it sees it but not getting audio obs says it doesn't support any firewire I'm still trying to solve my mystery
