I'm basically clueless when it comes to streaming. Can you please link me to the proper guides? With all the variables and different settings and guides available, it's easy to get lost and confused.
Here's what I have:
CPU: Intel Core i3 6100
GPU: XFX RX 480 8GB GTR Black Edition
RAM: 16GB (does it actually matter?)
Monitor: 1080p, 75hz (freesync)
Internet speed: 20 mbps up/down
Games I play:
Insurgency, CS:GO, Overwatch, Squad (soon, once it goes on sale on April 6th), Dota 2, The Long Dark, Don't Starve, Stardew Valley. Maybe AAA titles like Assassin's Creed and Witcher 3 as well.
Not really sure which settings I should go for. Some guides say contradicting things like use CBR but others say use VBR. Another said that 3500 bitrate is good for streaming but then I found out that it should only be good for Twitch non-partnered, and that higher bitrate is better in Youtube. I guess I'm also torn on which platform to stream, Twitch or Youtube? I also found out that the streaming settings should be different with the recording settings, but how different exactly? I'm no expert so I'm kind lost on what to really follow. I hope to record at 1080p@60fps (and upload it on Youtube) and maybe stream at 1080p downscaled at 720p@60fps. If my rig can handle the game, maybe straight up 1080p@60fps. I'm okay with 1080p/720p@30fps when it comes to AAA games and non-FPS games though. What do you guys think? With the gear I have and the games I play, what can you guys recommend for recording and streaming?
