Hello everyone,

trying to do some gaming videos. I am looking for a way, how to record gameplay in losseless video /for further editing/, however, my CPU isnt just perfect for the job. Currently, I have an i5-6600k@4,5GHz - 4c/4t processor with decent single core performance. I think, this isnt just enough to do losseless recording while gaming, or atleast, i havent found a way how to set up encoder/obs. Since I have some previous experience with Nvidia shadowplay, which makes good, but not losseless video recordings however with horrible audio quality so definitely not the way I am looking for but, it had no impact on performance. Is there a way how to use same type of encoding using GPU instead of CPU and make it losseless ar at least least lossy??
Any suggestions appreciated, meanwhile, i am going to do some own reasearch :)

Lossless recording isn't recommended and true lossless has insane file sizes. You can get quality that looks the same as lossless but with much smaller file sizes and less CPU usage. These are great settings: https://obsproject.com/forum/resour...lity-recording-and-multiple-audio-tracks.221/
Try using the NVENC encoder for best performance. If the quality isn't good enough just lower the CQP. At around 8 I find it looks exactly the same as lossless, and it is still way better than I need at around 16.

What GPU do you have?
