I'm here to hopefully get some insight to this problem that has been occurring for as long as I've had this computer. It doesn't really matter the game i choose to stream, i'll always be losing frames, and i have explored almost everything but can't find an answer.
More specifically, the game I've been wanting to stream is Overwatch, which is obviously very CPU intensive, but I've seen tons of people streaming it with a similar rig.
Rig :
GTX 970
CPU i7-4790k
SSD 250 GB
RAM 8GB
Upload speed : 11 mbps
Most people would wonder why i even have trouble streaming with such a rig, i could describe the problem as this " The game's performance is vastly different, it feels like input lag is added when i'm streaming, the FPS also drops significantly in a teamfight, and there is some stuttering here and there "
What i have already tried :
- Changing GPU's (In case there was something wrong with my video card, i replaced my GTX970 with my brother's GTX980 and the results were the same)
- Messing around with OBS settings
- Changing Monitors
- Changed the task's priority to real-time ( "In my attempt to push the CPU a little bit and see if it makes any difference, while it does feel a little different, it still feels odd compared to when i'm not streaming" )
What's the most interesting is that i try to stream it in the lowest settings possible, (e.g 720p downscaled to 480p, 1300 bitrate), but it's still the same;
I suspect there's something wrong with my CPU, but anyway i would appreciate it if someone could help with any possible idea or solution. I don't want to experiment with different computer parts, so i would be grateful for some insight.
