I run an audio post production studio and I use OBS when doing voiceover recordings and there are clients patched into the recording session via Zoom. I use the virtual webcam function to broadcast to Zoom and midi triggers to switch between different camera inputs and video playback (in case of voiceover for a TV commercial).
The audio software I use is Avid Pro Tools. I know Pro Tools sends out a signal via the HUI protocol (similar to midi) when in different states like, playing back, recording, stopped (and probably many more). I would love to have those as triggers for OBS to switch between scenes so OBS will be able to switch to the relevant video input accordingly.
