Question / Help Local Recording Only - Minimum PC requirements?

Hello,

I've been having trouble doing simple desktop recordings on my laptop using OBS Studio. I'm new to video content creation, but I have my suspicions that my laptop simply can't handle any form of recording/rendering, as I always get "Encoding Overloaded!..." error regardless of the myriad of "optimal OBS settings" I have found and tried.

Specs of the laptop in question:
ACER - Windows 10 Home
Intel Celeron N2830 @ 2.16GHz
Intel HD graphics
4GB RAM

I'm not looking for advice on another round of OBS settings to try, but I do have a few questions:

1. Should this laptop be able to handle simple desktop recording via OBS? (Not recording gaming vids, just instructional vids done via desktop recording).

2. What are the minimum system requirements for youtube-acceptable (preferably 1080p) local desktop recordings using OBS?

I know there are lots of variables to consider when trying to answer either question, but any info would be helpful. I'm really just trying to figure out if it's time for an upgrade on this unit and how much upgrade I'm going to need to be able to use OBS.

Thanks,

Try this:

Simple settings
Record Quality Indistinguishable
Encoding x264 low CPU or QSV (Quicksync)
Format FLV

I think your screen is 1366 x 768
So, upscaling to 1080p will produce bad quality video (and you will need more power to encode it)
