Loading a Scene in “standby mode”

I’m not very optimistic that this is possible, but what I’d really like to do is move a piece of video to the program side automatically paused at the first frame, and then be able to use a hot-key to play it on cue. So far, the closest I’ve come is to set up a hot-key to pause it manually as quick as I can after doing the cut. Any suggestions?

Normally I just have a Media Source already in the scene, set to restart playback when source becomes visible, then set it visible with a hotkey. Starts at the first frame.

I’m trying to do something a little different. I have a separate switcher with OBS being one of several possible sources. I need to have the next video resting in the OBS program window until the primary switcher takes OBS while we hit play

The automatically pausing at the first frame seems to be the issue...

At the video have Restart playback when source becomes active unchecked. Load the video scene into Preview. Manually pause the video and drag the slider back to the beginning. Now you can transition the scene to Program with still video image. Then a Play hotkey for the video will start it (not Restart).

For repeated showing, you'd have to manually pause and drag slide to the beginning again.
