Hi everybody,
I've seen a lot of posts that have to do with multiple streams at once, but I can't seem to find anybody asking this question.
So my friend and I have been doing live concerts separately. We use OBS to capture our mixer audio and our cameras via capture cards. We stream from OBS to YouTube successfully.
Now, however, we're thinking we'd like to do a combined concert - effectively, one of us would play a set, then the other would take over. Here are the parameters:
1. We live in completely different cities, so we would be each streaming from our own houses.
2. There DOESN'T need to be a time when we're both on streaming at the same time - it would be one performer, then maybe an interlude graphic and then the other.
3. Ideally, to the audience, it would be 1 seamless stream
4. Ideally we would be going through OBS so we can take advantage of our good cameras, capture cards and audio setup.
I've heard 2 things
1. We could both try streaming to the same Stream Key - and hope that one stream just takes over the other. I don't love this idea, but would love to hear other people's thoughts on it.
2. I've heard trying things like Streamyard. My problem with Streamyard, is that it goes through the browser - and the closest I could get is using a Virtual Cam through OBS. The issue there, is that it only outputs video, not the audio - so there would definitely be sync issues - and for a concert, sync and good audio is pretty important.
So - would love to hear suggestions about how 2 OBS instances could do a hand-off of a live stream.
Thanks
